How It All Started-her side of the story

Fast forward to January 2012 .
Amanda was a good portion of her way through Interior Design with two semesters under her belt .
Life was crazy , projects due at the same time  sometimes 3 at a time and each taking up about fifteen hours to complete . A  couple of possible relationships did not go through and  stress of a grumpy hormonal roommate did not help . Wonderful future  husband to the rescue ,Oh yes please !
It was a good day when Amanda bumped into Nick again .  The day was unseasonably warm and sunny  -and was looking cheerful.
Amanda was on her way out of school to her dorm when she stopped at a booth where some friends she made the other semester were sitting at. They were holding a school function for a spirituality up-liftment. She chatted, then signed up for it .
As she was about ready to go  when she had a feeling she forgot something.
Amanda: "Maybe I need more fabric for one of my projects"  I thought and started rummaging through bag.  "Nope that not it. Hmmm .... " Turns around and is about to go home when I run into Nick . I wanted to make friends   but not get attached that semester . Also  I had  made it a goal to say hi to everyone I met , it was quirky goal I know- so I said hi . I forgot his name and grasping for one said  the wrong name .  He said "actually its Nick . " I apologized quickly... but heck, it had been almost a year since I met him and I'd met allot of  other people . I was sure embarrassed still though !
He then asked me if I'd any plans  this week (ie dates )I told him the usually response  I gave when generally not interested "homework I've got allot of projects to work on " . Panicking because it dawned on me . It was the guy who bored me at the barbecue get together .He persisted and asked me "do you like concerts ? I thought he was talking about some of the new and current artists ,so I told him I don't know I've never been to one assuming it was music that big names played not dead composers .  Now , some of my friends   said they had went to the symphony and it was incredible . I was kind of jealous and curious   , Id never gone before and it was right across from my dorm. Nick continued , its Beethoven 's fifth I think I remember him saying .
Dread and desperation crept into me . I am not a huge fan of classical , it puts me to sleep and reminds me of 1700's high society people dancing elaborate dances with high piled hair and guys in heeled shoes .  "How do I politely decline ? Or take a raincheck ?" I quickly thought.  My roommate's voice popped into my head "Be nice to the poor sucker, say yes ! "   He told me the time and "I said that's kinda  late"  trying to get out of it .Nick unaware of the dilemma going on inside my head  plowed ahead and offered to take me to dinner . Dinner I don't have to cook? totally sold ! I said "yes ,sounds good" and we finished the plans for our first date. On the way home I couldn't stop being happy . even though I tried to avoid it and I don't really care for classical , I had  a date ! I wasn't sure if it'd go anywhere but if I didn't like him I 'd just turn him down for a second date .
Amanda went home excited then started to worry .. what do I wear ? How do I act ? she pestered her friends  got answers  and teased  as she planned her outfit.

First Impressions Aren't Everything .

Our Adventures started in August 2011

Amanda  just started at the LDS Business college for a degree in Interior Design .  Nick on the other hand was almost done with with his degree in Business Transfer  .

Amanda's mom came up with Amanda to help her settle in to her first place away from home . After some conjoling Amanda and her mom were able to get her dorm  sooner than most of the other girls who were coming to the dorms . Before leaving Amanda's mom made her promise she'd go to the barbecue get together  at one of the church leaders houses for single adults . Amanda reluctantly agreed .. free food and eyecandy she wasn't trying to catch -sure .
Amanda had a plan .Get into the LDS Business college excel by ignoring guys  ,get her associates degree in Interior Design and get out.

So she went  to the  barbecue get together  with a bunch of people  from church carpooling up to a large well decorated home  of the CEO's of Energy Solutions  who also happened to be a church leader who graciously opened his home to us and  liked to entertain  young single adults .
As Amanda scanned the crowd she wasn't very impressed . The normal :cute  muscle heads who were rude and uninterested in her;and  the nice guys who were and  unattractive to her. She tried to make new friends by mixing and mingling . To Amanda the host's  were gracious and thoughtful . Nick went to make friends and meet people as well  .His impression was more favorable -he's more of a optimist . His general impression of the people was that most were nice but tentative because most of them were new to the area having started there first semester at collage.  Although the host was a CEO and a church leader Nick' impression of  the host was that he was  a cheerful grandpa. He only saw part of the house but it was large, with both a basket ball court and a swimming pool.  .

Soon it was time for food . What's an LDS get together with out food ?  Everybody grabbed a plate and started getting to know each other better .

Amanda decided to talk to a shy guy who sat not to far from her at the table (Nick) ,they introduced themselves and started to get to know each other better .As they were eating Nick pulled out a diabetic test machine . Amanda had never seen one before . She politely asked  what it was for . Nick told her it was for his diabetes . Amanda ,being thirsty for knowledge wanted to know a bit more about the different types. Nick started to to explain ..
Amanda : I wanted to know a bit more but the nutshell kind of explanation , what I got was a detailed description ... I was bored out of my mind. "How do I get out of this politely with out being rude ?  " I thought . "I'll use that excuse I've read about .. I'll pretend to be looking for a friend or something . "
My initial impression of Nick :shy,nice ,not drop dead handsome but cute  and boooring, I summed up . Soooo boring !!
Nick : I remember that get together  - I was invited  by my room mates, and I decided to go to see if I could meet new people.  When I first saw Amanda I thought that she was pretty and nice looking. When everyone  sat down to eat and got I  to talk with her I saw that she had both smarts and good looks as well as a being a nice person, and that  is how I remember meeting Amanda.

After the eating the two of them ended going their separate ways ,dating other people and making friends.
Little did  they know that they wouldn't run each other again until  four months after  and  then would end up getting married a year later ...
